2006 Annual Convention held in Clackamas, Oregon 2006-02-23 The convention drew a crowd of more than 20 Auctioneers who gathered to learn the latest developments in the marketing specialty that is auctioneering. The event featured three national speakers, Mr. Randy Wells; CAI, AARE, GPPA, CES, Tranzon northwest, Post Falls, Idaho; Ms. Johnna Wells, 2005 International Auctioneer Champion, Portland, Oregon, Benefit Auctions 360 and Mr. Mike Jones, CAI, GPPA President - 2004-2005 National Auctioneers Association, Mike Jones Auction Group, Inc., America’s Auction Academy, Inc., Dallas, TX. The event conducted informational seminars on topics including: SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis of you and your business, The Golden Rules of Successful Fundraising Auctions, The Formula for becoming a more successful auctioneer and Contracts: Protecting the Auctioneer and the seller. The purpose of the annual event is to provide comprehensive education programs to auction professionals to give them the tools to better serve both buyers and sellers of property, merchandise and specialty items. Special conference events included the Annual Advertising contest, an Awards Banquet, and the Annual Business Meeting which included the nominating a slate of new officers and board of directors.
